Ropes

The business in rope has become a crucial activity for our organisation. Trade in these items has expanded significantly. This expansion has been mainly realised in order to serve our customers better.

The types are:

ropesNatural ropes

The Manila ropes are produced from the fibres of the leaves from a type of banana plant. These leaves can grow to a length of up to 3 metres.

Hemp rope

Hemp rope is made from the original natural fibres. In the same way as all natural rope types, hemp is produced from the leaves of the plant with the same name. Hemp was and is commonly used for the rigging in old ships. These days, it is often used in gym halls and other sport buildings.

Sisal rope

Sisal is made from the leaves of the Agave plants. These plants originally come from Central America but are now farmed on a large scale in Africa.

Cotton rope

Cotton for rope is not as well-known as the natural ropes specified above. This type has almost gone out of production. Some time ago, net supplier J. van Dijk & Sons supplied a psychiatric centre with cotton nets so that the residents could build up a good experience with the “outside” world using these soft materials. Synthetic rope, polypropylene rope, polyethylene rope, nylon, Hempex, lead cords and fire-retardant ropes can also be delivered as yarns. All types of rope and yarn are delivered with a certificate. These can be delivered on a drum or per bundle.
